treadmills
joshwize asked:

I am a track/cross country runner. Through my HS career I have heard that you should run on the roads or the track instead of the treadmill. Maybe this is because of the material the conveyor belt is made of, I dont know. I was just wondering if this is true. Thanks…

i ask myself the same question because i run too!!! well if you are going to run on a tredmill i would be careful because you can ruin your knees if you run on it to mucH!!!! If not run outside!! -hope this helps!!

It makes no difference what surface you run on, but running outside can be more interesting.

i suppose treadmills are so ultra repetitive that they may damage your knees, at least outside you have some variety. so go run outside, and i need to go run too. !! :]

Theres a place for every workout. Sprinting should be left at the track. Distance runs can be done just as easy on the treadmill as they can on the road. All in the runners mind/body how they train. If outside conditions won’t allow you to get a workout in, by all means use that treadmill.

I don’t think that treadmills are good. If you have the chance to run on the track, then you should. It will help better simulate the actual race and you can race others instead of running without others on a treadmill. I would only use the treadmill as a last resort, when the weather is bad.
