Nordic Track is a reputable manufacturer. Pro-Form makes excellent treadmills, as well. Ultimately, you should look for a model that has a Continous Flow Motor (aka CHP) with at least 2.0HP and a lifetime warranty. Also, make sure the belt length is long enough for your stride.

Nordic Track treadmills are made by Icon Health and Fitness, the same people that make Proform, Image, Weslo and others. In general, their treadmills are very poor quality and have low grade parts. At my shop, we get in more treadmills to repair from Icon than from any other manufacturer. The main problem on their machines is their motors. They take tiny motors (generally 1 to 1.5 horse power) and run that at very high RPMs (generally 9000 or more). What that does is cause these motors to run very hot, which increases their chances of breaking down and shortens their lifespan quite a bit.
Their treadmills are known in the industry as throw away units that are built for light usage and they generally only last a year or two. The best use for Nordic Track treadmills is to hang your clothing on them.
