treadmills
audrey asked:

I’ve heard they cause a lot of problems in your legs and hips over time, but really, is this all true?

I’ve only heard of problems happening if you constantly walk at an incline of more than 3 degrees.

I used to use a treadmill but after a while of using it — it started to cause my shin splints to flair up. So if you do have shin splints dont use it =P

Other then that I wouldn’t know — I doubt it thou.

Treadmills themselves are fine. They offer a little more cushion than running on pavement. Running in general is pretty hard on your body, though. A lot of people who run experience injuries over time, but that’s due to the running, not the treadmill.

sometimes the impact of repeatedly placing your feet on the treadmill can affect your joints (knees/ankles), just as it would with jogging in general, especially at higher speeds.
